Eligibility Requirements:
1. Applicants must plan to pursue a degree in (a) elementary education (b) nursing (c) pre-medicine
or (d) pre-veterinarian programs.
2. Applicants must complete the first semester of their senior year and be a graduating senior from
any DeKalb County High School or Kaneland High School District 302 entering a college or
university as a freshman student.
3. Applicants must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher through the end of the first semester of their senior
year in high school.

The Kishwaukee Symphony Orchestra (KSO) is pleased to announce applications are now being accepted for our annual KSO High School Music Scholarship. This $1000.00 scholarship will be awarded to a select local high school student(s) who reside in DeKalb County, have played in an instrumental music ensemble in high school (orchestra, band, or other), and will be members of an instrumental music ensemble in college this fall.
The deadline is Sunday, March 15, 2026. All applications and recommendation letters must be submitted online via our website. Recipients of this scholarship will be formally announced at the KSO Spring Concert on May 2, 2026.

Senior Scholarship: $1,200 scholarship is available to high school seniors pursuing college degrees in any field of interest.
James M. Johnson Ag Scholarship: This scholarship is for a graduating High School senior within DeKalb County, who must also be a member of the FFA or a 4-H Club. One $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to a student who plans to study agriculture or the trades.

The Soil and Water Stewardship Scholarship seeks to provide financial support to students enrolled fulltime at an accredited two or four-year community college, college, or university, which will lead to a career in a natural resource field.
Scholarship will be awarded in amounts up to $1,000. Scholarship money may be used for tuition, fees, books, supplies and/or equipment required for courses. Scholarship money may not be used for room and board.

The scholarship is open to all graduating Genoa-Kingston seniors as well as home schooled and parochial school students who are residents of Genoa and Kingston and who would otherwise fall in the CUSD Unit #424 District boundaries. It is available to students’ continuing education at a community college, 4-year university, technical college or trade school.

The Genoa Kingston Athletic Booster Club (GKABC) will award two $1,000 scholarships to seniors graduating with the Class of 2026. One scholarship will be awarded to a boys’ sport participant, and one to a girls’ sport participant. Applicants will be selected based on leadership, character, sportsmanship and school spirit. School and community service, as well as academic achievements, may be considered.
These scholarships are available for any institution of higher education (community college, four-year college or university, or trade/technical school). Scholarship checks will be issued directly to the school. If you have already received a “full-ride” scholarship from your institution, you are not eligible to receive this award.
