Mr. Jahnke develops and implements individualized education plans for a group of students under his caseload. Wherein, he creates goals relating to education, employment and independent living for students receiving special education services. Mr. Jahnke promotes positive behavior within the classroom and utilizes data to effectively administer behavior plans for students receiving services. Additionally, Mr. Jahnke provides accommodations to special education students and modifies curriculum for individual instruction.
Mr. Jahnke is a teacher dedicated to improving the educational experience of all students and is particularly passionate about the following areas within education. Mr. Jahnke is particularly skilled in developing Individualized education programs for students at the high school level, writing measurable and observable annual goals, providing transition services in the classroom setting, and ensuring students progress. Mr. Jahnke places a strong focus on data collection and documentation related to post secondary outcomes of student career goals. Mr. Jahnke tirelessly advocates for student success and provides high quality transition support and services as his students as they integrate into the workplace, post-secondary education, and living independently. Mr. Jahnke is diligent in providing students with the services they need to become successful adults.
Mr. Jahnke is proud of the opportunities he has had through his teaching position at Genoa-Kingston High School, he has taken on leadership roles for student clubs as well as serving on multiple committees. Mr. Jahnke's current involvement outside of the classroom includes the following:
Mr. Jahnke works with his department to focus on student growth and continual professional development through collaboration and focused effort with colleagues district wide. PLC's provide opportunities for groups of educators to meet weekly with a common goal in mind. PLC's are valuable for schools and professionals who are committed to working together to help each child be more successful in school.
