PRACTICES + ATTENDANCE
We start optional workouts with the high school track team when their season starts.
We will practice on Wednesdays. Athletes with church commitments are excused from these.
Practices will end at 5:30 and should be picked up on time.
Athletes are expected to be at all practices. If they are unable to attend, the athlete should reach out to the coaches directly to let them know they are sick or will be unable to be there.
You must be at school half a day to participate in practice.
You must be in school a full day to participate in a track meet.
You MUST be at a practice before a track meet to compete. We refer to these as 'mandatory practices'. If you have a conflict with a mandatory practice, contact a coach right away.
You are expected to get homework done on time that needs to be done if you're at a track meet.
If you are injured, you are still part of the team and should attend practices/ meets
If you are absent we need the athlete or parent to reach out to the coach ahead of time for it to be excused. Unexcused absences will result in being taken out of event as we prioritize the athletes that are at practice daily.
CONDUCT
Academics: School comes first. Our athletes need to work hard to turn in assignments on time . No Fs in any class are allowed.
Behavior: Athletes are expected to be role models and behave as such. Any disciplinary issues at school will affect sports, and track is no different. There will be consequences as deemed by the coaches. Be respectful. Always.
Attitude, Effort, & Preparation: Athletes are expected to come to practice ready to go every day. We expect the best effort and that they have prepared their bodies with food/ water appropriately for their workout.
Sportsmanship: All athletes must have good sportsmanship to other teams and within our own team.
