Schedule:
Practice every day after school until 5:15-5:30. *If students have church commitments after school on Wednesdays, they should go to those and get a workout in after. If not, they should come to practice!
Be sure to discuss WHERE you want your child to wait for your when practice is over. Some kids wait behind the middle school, some in the front, some at the high school gym door, etc. Be sure your child knows where you will be.
Please pick up your child promptly! :)
If athletes won't be at practice please email us and let us know as soon as possible. We plan practices with relay teams and a variety of skills in mind so attendance is important! Track is a very complex and diverse sport. With it only being a five week season, their commitment to their team is important.

WHAT TO BRING TO A TRACK MEET
The night before- HYDRATE IN THE EVENING - at least one whole water bottle of water and eat healthy carbs (bread, rice, pasta, etc.)
Wear track shirt to school and drink at least two water bottles full of water
You will get out of school EARLY-
Athletes, remember to check in with your teachers. You are accountable for any work you miss after you're dismissed!
What to Bring- if you have a larger duffel bag that works well to throw everything in!
Water Bottle
Running Shoes
Competition Shoes if you have them (not necessary)
Uniform Top
Black Shorts (Student owned- must be black)
WARM CLOTHES- Sweatshirt, jacket, hat, gloves, etc. When the sun goes down it gets COLD and it's important our athletes stay warm so they can still perform. (NOTE: We also will run in rain but not lightning. If rain is in the forecast many appreciate having a change of clothes with.)
If it is cold athletes are able to wear plain black leggings under their shorts and a plain black long sleeve shirt under their uniform top. No labels can be showing (like a white Nike swoosh symbol).
FOOD! Usually track meets will have concession stands so there is food available to purchase but we would encourage our athletes to bring PLENTY of food and snacks to get them through the evening. It can be long. *See the 'Nutrition & Water' tab for ideas.
*We do have a tent with sides as well as a tarp we put on the ground in the tent. The tent is for our athletes and their stuff only. Sorry parents & families! ;)
*A RIDE HOME- THIS SHOULD BE SET UP AHEAD OF TIME SO WE DO NOT WAIT AT THE SCHOOL WHEN OUR BUS ARRIVES.
WHAT TO BRING TO A HS TRACK MEET YOU'RE HELPING AT
Wear track shirt to school and to the meet!
Come to the track as soon as you're dismissed from school. Find Mr. Formanek or Mrs. Hallberg so they can help you with where you will be.
Middle school athletes should plan to be there until about 7:00pm!
WARM CLOTHES - when the sun goes down it will be chilly! *Wear pirate stuff or purple if you can!
snacks and/ or cash for concession stand
waterbottle
2026 PR LIST! *STAY TUNED...
We track and celebrate PRs (personal records) of every athlete in every event they compete in. Athletes that "PR" in a meet get announced at the next team practice and get the coveted award of FRUIT SNACKS!
Track athletes chase PRs. They do NOT PR every meet, nor are they expected to. When they happen, they're rare and should be celebrated, which is what we like to do!
