Community Art... Who we are and what we do
Our vision is to promote and increase the presence of the arts in the Gahanna community
The work is student led and student driven–the majority of projects are planned and implemented by students from conception to completion
Students in the Community Art class
Work with schools, local businesses, and City groups to create and promote the arts
Volunteer at community arts events
Present in a public forum at least once a year to provide updates on projects and express gratitude for continued community support
Create and implement at least one annual whole-community arts advocacy event presented free of charge to all attendees
Support local businesses whenever possible
A proud home to 2400+ students, Gahanna Lincoln High school is located east of Columbus in the heart of Gahanna, Ohio.
The GLHS Community Art class was created to enhance the educational experience for students interested in community outreach and arts advocacy. This class is innovative and creative by design. It offers authentic learning opportunities and was created to meet each student where they start and help them grow to their fullest potential. Students in this class experience real-world applications of the arts and are empowered by their decisions in this student-led and student-driven 21st Century teaching and learning community.
