Welcome to 7th Grade Classical Literature
"So now you see why books are hated and feared? They show the pores of the face of life." -Fahrenheit 451
We will begin 7th Grade by reading Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury. We will be reading this first text until mid-October. Our focus while reading is on close reading, with an eye for the author's use of language, structure, and literary devices such as symbolism, imagery, allusion, and irony. Scholars will have nightly reading and text annotation that require no more than 20 minutes. During class, we will discuss the text through Socratic questioning, language study, and creative projects. Please refer to the HOMEWORK LINK below for the nightly reading assignment.
