We will begin our semester with a Contemporary Painting unit where we will study Abstract Expressionism, Pop Art, 20th Century African American Art, Photorealism, Neo-Expressionism, and the Contemporary revival of classical painting through the images listed below. We will also learn how the principles of design work within an artwork to create a balanced and complete composition. These concepts and understandings of composition will be reinforced when we begin our second unit of Photography.
