Foot Locker Scholar Athletes

Deadline: December 17, 2022

ELIGIBILITY

In order to be eligible for the Foot Locker Scholar Athletes Program, the applicant must:

• Be entering college in the Fall of 2022 as a Freshman at a four-year school for an undergraduate degree;

• Be currently involved in high school sports, intramural sports, or community based sports.

• Have a minimum GPA of 3.0; 

• Be a U.S. citizen or permanent legal resident (you will be asked to prove citizenship and age if you win); 

• Not be an employee, officer or director of Foot Locker, Inc., or any of its subsidiaries, or a member of the immediate family of such an employee, officer or director.

JUDGING CRITERIA

Judges will evaluate each of the fully completed scholarship applications on a points system based on, among other factors:

• Embody good sportsmanship and strong moral character. Foot Locker Scholar Athletes are trusted and respected members of their schools and communities. They have built strong relationships with and will leave a lasting impact on other students, administrators, and community members.

• Display academic excellence. Foot Locker Scholar Athletes are intellectually curious, set high academic goals for themselves, and excel in their studies.

• Are passionate and committed to empowering the community in which they live. Foot Locker Scholar Athletes have made a significant commitment to improving the lives of others.

• Are confident and enthusiastic about being a leader. Foot Locker Scholar Athletes aren’t reluctant role models. They are confident, honest, and passionate leaders who take on challenges for the greater good.

• Come from diverse backgrounds. Foot Locker Scholar Athletes have unique life stories, are from different places, have varied academic ambitions, and play a wide range of sports.

• Are Foot Locker Scholar Athletes material. Locker Scholar Athletes share key attributes:

  • Proactive and highly motivated

  • Inspiring and charismatic

  • Honest and trustworthy

  • Genuine

  • Strong and courageous

With so many awards based on grades and extraScurricular activities, this unique scholarship gives you the chance to show us what's truly special and different about you. Get creative, be serious, or tug at our heart strings. Whatever you do, you only have ten reasons to convince us, so make each one count.

Nitro Scholarship 

Deadline: December 31, 2022

$2,000 - 1 Award

The $2,000 Nitro Scholarship Sweepstakes is only open to legal residents of the 50 United States, the District of Columbia, age 17 or older at the time of entry, and who meet one (1) of the five (5) following eligibility requirements at the time of entry:

1. a parent who currently has a child enrolled in an accredited college or university located within the United States;

2. a student who is currently enrolled in an accredited college or university located within the United States;

3. a parent who currently has a child enrolled as a high school senior located within the United States;

4. a student who is currently enrolled as a high school senior located with the United States; 

5. a student or a parent whose child has graduated from an accredited undergraduate school (a “School) and who is currently paying back a student or parent loan for his/her/child’s educational expenses for such School (“Entrant”).

GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship

Deadline: January 6, 2023

Amount: $10,000 (renewable for up to 3 additional years)

ELIGIBILITY

To be eligible for this award, applicants must:

• demonstrate at school, at the workplace, and within the community the attributes of leadership, drive, integrity, and citizenship;

• demonstrate strong academic performance (minimum 3.0 grade point average/4.0 scale or equivalent);

• be citizens of the United States of America;

• be current high school seniors attending high school in the United States (students living on U.S. Armed Forces base and homeschooled students are also eligible); and

• plan to enroll in a full-time undergraduate course of study toward a bachelor’s degree at an accredited four-year college or university in the United States for the entire upcoming academic year.

Semifinalists will be required to provide a recommendation from a community leader, such as a high school principal, elected official or executive director of a nonprofit organization, and must provide documentation to certify academic performance and financial need. American Quarter Horse Association Scholarships

WHAT'S YOUR DREAM?

It's crazy to think of all the amazing stories that happen as soon as we close our eyes and drift to sleep. It could be in a deep slumber or perhaps in a carefree daze, but our dreams can help shape our ideas, perceptions, and - now - education.

If we had that crazy contraption from "Inception," we could just live the dream with you. But, since we can't, we need you to tell us in our scholarship for dreamers. Did you have a dream that was off-the-wall, or maybe it was so real that you didn't know you were dreaming? Maybe you dream of a successful future or reaching your goals. Whatever your dreams might be, they could help you towards getting a scholarship for your college education.

Scholarships don't have to exist in your rich reveries. Let your dreams be your muse - and your ticket to free money for school. One "dreamer" in our I Have a Dream Scholarship Scholarship will receive $1,500 to help make his or her educational dream come true.

Applicants must:

• Be thirteen (14) years of age or older at the time of application

• Be legal residents of the fifty (50) United States or the District of Columbia

Army ROTC Scholarship

Deadline: February 4, 2023

Amount: $200,000 (1000 Awards)

TUITION AND FEES ARE COVERED, ON TOP OF MONTHLY ALLOWANCES

• The scholarships can be applied to any of the more than 1,000 participating schools

• Your achievements and grades determine if you’ll be awarded a scholarship, not your financial need

ADDITIONAL MONEY FOR EXPENSES AND BOOKS

• All scholarships include an extra $420 per month for the school year to use toward monthly expenses, like housing

• All scholarships also allow $1,200 per year to spend toward books.

YOUR OBLIGATION

Your acceptance of the scholarship means a future service obligation of:

• Eight years of Army service, with requirements for active duty in the Army, and/or serving in the Army Reserve or Army National Guard, depending on the scholarship

• You may be eligible to serve part time in the Army Reserve or Army National Guard while pursuing a civilian career immediately after graduation

To be accepted for any ROTC Scholarship, you must meet these standards:

• Be a U.S. citizen

• Be at least 17, and under 31 in year of commissioning

• Have a high school diploma or equivalent

• Have a high school GPA of at least 2.50, unweighted if you're in high school while applying

• Have taken the SAT or ACT

• Take the current Army physical fitness test

• Meet the physical weight and height requirements

• Agree to accept a commission and serve in the Army, Army Reserve, or Army National Guard

Elks National Foundation Legacy Awards

Deadline: February 7, 2023

Who is Eligible?

1. For the 2022 contest, any child or grandchild (or step-child, step-grandchild, or legal ward) of a living Elk who joined the order on or before April 1, 2019, or a charter member of a Lodge that was instituted on or after April 1, 2019, is eligible to apply. The Elk must also be a paid-up member through March 31, 2022. Great-grandchildren are not eligible.

2. The applicant must be a high school senior.

3. The applicant must apply online only. The 2022 Legacy Awards application deadline is February 7, 2022.

4. If the applicant's parent and grandparent are both Elk members, the applicant must apply through the parent's Elks Lodge.

5. We have waived the standardized test requirement for the 2022 Legacy contest. You do not need to submit ACT and/or SAT scores.

6. Students may apply for more than one ENF scholarship; however, they may win only one. In cases where the student wins more than one, we will award the scholarship with the greater value. Students can accept local and state scholarships, which are separate from the awards at the national level.

7. Legacy Awards may only be applied to accredited US American schools, colleges or universities. (Note: Applicants from Guam, Panama, Puerto Rico and the Philippines may apply Legacy Awards toward schools, colleges or universities in their respective homes.)

8. If you are selected as a 2022 Legacy Awards recipient, you will be required to perform service once a year with an Elks Lodge during the four years you are receiving the scholarship. Click here for more information about serving with the Elks.

Elks National Foundation Legacy Awards

Deadline: February 15, 2023

Amount: $20,000

To be eligible, applicants must:

• be a high school senior planning to attend college this year

• have a 3.0 grade-point average or higher

• plan to pursue a career in journalism

Students do not need to be a U.S. citizen to apply for this scholarship.

The deadline for applications is February 15, 2023. Please have all application materials prepared to submit before starting your application. You will not be able to start, save, and return to your submission. Late or incomplete submissions will not be considered.

A complete application consists of:

• A short elevator pitch: Why are you interested in journalism, and how have you pursued it so far? (no more than 150 words)

• Your most recent academic transcript (PDF)

• A 500-word essay on how you will bring diversity to U.S. journalism (PDF)

• A description of your financial need

• Three to five work samples demonstrating your ability or a career interest in journalism*

• Three letters of recommendation from teachers or professors, employers, leaders of the various groups you are involved with, or other people who are most familiar with your work and work ethic

Vegetarian Resource Group Scholarships

Deadline: February 20, 2023

Amount: $10,000 (3 Awards)

AAUW Trumbull County Scholarship

Deadline: February 28, 2023

Amount: $1,000 each (2 Awards)

Qualifications for the scholarship:

•  Female, resident of Trumbull County, Ohio,

•  Full-time high school senior (12th grader) student,

•  In good academic standing with a 3.2 minimum grade point average (GPA), and

•  Enrolled in a bachelor’s degree level program at an accredited college or university, located in the State of Ohio, by the scholarship award timing.

• 2. A transcript must be provided with the application.

• 3. The applicant must submit an essay about herself, stating her career goals, why she should be considered for the scholarship, and any extracurricular or life experiences. 

• Essay must contain at least 400 words. (Please include applicant’s name on the essay.)

• 4. Applicant should also include a letter of reference from her high school guidance counselor.

Experimental Aircraft Association Scholarships

Deadline: March 1, 2023

Amount: $5,000 (20 Awards)
