PTA - Elementary
Description: this is a group of elementary parents and teachers who provide special activities for elementary students. Activities include the fall and spring book fair, the Holiday Shoppe, and the Valentine’s Day Ice Cream Social. They also host the Halloween Carnival which is open to all students and their families. Parent Group - Elementary
Description: The Gilpin Elementary parent group will meet the first Tuesday of each month from 4:10-5:10 P.M (the same day as the monthly school board meeting). Field Trips - Elementary
Description: After clearance per District protocol and if appropriate for the event, work with the classroom teacher to accompany class on a field trip. Not all field trips require additional chaperones; let the classroom teacher know your availability for trips that do require additional adult support. The Booster Club - Middle & High School
Description: This organization supports many activities for middle school and high school including middle school dances, staffing the concession stand for all activities (athletics, theater, academics), decorating and providing food for banquets, after prom, decorating for high school graduation and catering the reception. Monies raised go to scholarships for graduating seniors, Junior/Senior After Prom, and many other programs. The Gold Membership is $40 per year and there are many opportunities to be involved without specific time requirements.

Gilpin Athletics - Middle and High School
Description: All Gilpin County School activities benefit from volunteer support. The activities include football, volleyball, theater, wrestling, cheerleading and a variety of clubs and organizations. Volunteers are needed to work athletic events such as ticket sales, clocks, and other needs. Parents of participants may volunteer in lieu of paying student activity fees. Gilpin County School Theater Department
Description: Depending on the production, volunteers will work at the direction of the Theatre Department Director to support the needs of the play. This year, help is needed selling tickets at each performance (Thursday May 5th, Friday May 6th and the Saturday matinee May 7th )
Every year help is always welcome for selling tickets, building sets (depending on the production), helping with make-up and hair and costumes. If you have graphic design skills, help is welcome with posters and programs and help is always needed for fundraising for the Theater Department. Barton tutoring for Language Arts

Art Department Support

STEM Fair
Description: In the 24-25 school year GCES will be hosting the STEM fair for 4th and 5th grade students (lower elementary students can voluntarily participate). Students can create traditional science fair projects or engineering creations using the design process. We would love parent volunteers to help judge the student creations!
