For the 2025-2026 school year, GCES is focusing on the theme "AstroEagles: A Journey Through the Solar System". The school will incorporate fun, space-related activities throughout the school year and the students will complete AstroEagle Missions focused on social/emotional and academic concepts and incorporating the planets in our galaxy.
The AstroEagle Missions are below. Each month the students will focus on new missions with their AstroEagle Mission Team. The teams are mixed-age with at least one student present from each grade level (K-5). The purpose of the mixed-age teams is to foster a sense of schoolwide community and to develop mentorship opportunities for older students. During each mission, teams will participate in activities focused on the theme of the month (relationships, goal setting, math fact fluency, kindness and gratitude, growth mindset, joy and belonging, curiosity and creativity, healthy habits, respect and integrity, and reflecting of the school year). The activities will have students complete a project and the projects will be displayed across the Multi-Purpose Room to allow students to travel across the solar system and admire their classmates ideas.
