Some of our courses use voice recordings, so you will need some type of software or program to make an audio recording to submit to your instructor. There are several free audio options that will work for this purpose. Be sure to contact your instructor to determine the file type in which you need to submit your recordings, and for directions on how to submit assignments in your Learning Management system.
OPTION 1: VOCAROO
- Visit the Vocaroo site.
- Select "Click to Record" to begin recording.
- An Adobe Flash Player Settings box will appear and Vocaroo will request access to your camera and microphone.
- Select "Allow" and the recording begins.
- There is no time limit on length of recording.
- When finished, select "Click to Stop."
- To listen to recording, select "Listen."
- If you are not satisfied with the recording, select "Retry" to start the recording.
- If you are satisfied with the recording, select "Happy with the recording? Click here to save."
- You are given several sharing options: copy and paste, embed, or email. (Other options are available if needed). Copy the URL and paste the link into your assignment.
OPTION 2: VOKI
- Visit the Voki site to create an account.
- Once your account is created, select the free Voki app.
- Follow the steps to create your presentation:
- Select an avatar.
- Customize it.
- Add a voice.
- Choose a background.
- Publish and share.
- To share the Voki character that you created, select the email or copy URL option
- Copy the URL and paste the link into your assignment.
OPTION 3: AUDIOPAL
- Visit the AudioPal site.
- Select "Get Yours It's Free!"
- Select to use your computer microphone (you will need to select "allow" for the site to access your mic). Note, there is also an option to call a toll-free phone number to record (this option requires you to input an access code that is provided).
- Select Record to start your message. Select Stop when you are done.
- Preview your recording to ensure it recorded properly.
- Provide your email address and select "Get It!"
- You will receive an email with a link to your recording (it is delivered quickly).
- Open the e-mail and select "Click Here" to publish your AudioPal.
- Copy the site URL, and paste the link into your assignment.
