Kia ora Te Rōpū Whakamanawa. We have all experienced lockdown learning before so this time around, we will aim to improve on what we did last time and make the most of this opportunity. Check out our weekly slide to see what is ahead for the week. I will use this as our main class navigation space.

This weekend is Father's Day. To celebrate this and to make someone's day, we have a Special Someone slide. You will find this in your 'Other' folder. You can use it as a token of gratitude and appreciation for a special adult in your home.
Keeping ourselves active is really important for our physical wellbeing. Miss Cabral has created a collaborative slide for us to collate and try out a range of physical activities.
This slide is a shared slide that all of us in Whakamanawa can contribute to. This is a space for us to share some of our favourite lockdown music with each other.
This year, to support the Cancer Society's annual fundraiser, Daffodil Day, we had some cool events planned at school. We have been doing online fundraising and have raised over $700 so far. We will fill our Google Meet screens with yellow and participate in a range of activities that are daffodil based.

Your Paralympic Games Learning Activities
We have been really impressed by the creative ways teachers are encouraging children to make lockdown learning fun and interactive.
In one of our daily class Meet sessions, one of the students suggested that we do something involving challenges for Whakamanawa. We created a Google Slide and decided what areas of challenge we would have and came up with physical, creative, social and kindness.
Prior to lockdown, we welcomed Miss Cabral to our class. Miss Cabral is from Brazil which is great for us because Whakamanawa love learning new languages. Here is a slide that Miss Cabral created to continue our learning.
A treaty is an agreement between two groups of people. During our learning about The Treaty of Waitangi, we co-created a Whakamanawa treaty. We will recite parts of our treaty every day to help us to recall and act on what we have agreed to.
For Term Three, we will use this slide to work on our handwriting.
We are learning about different types of food and organising them into categories.
