School Enrollment: Over the last fifteen years, Gibbon Public Schools had experienced an increasing student enrollment with a peak of 649 in the 2011-12 school year. Our population has been trending down over the past few years.
Ethnicity: The student population consists of about approximately 52 percent Caucasian, 46 percent Hispanic, and 2 percent others. The data shows that over the last five years the difference in the percentage of Hispanic and Caucasian is decreasing but the current school year is the first decrease in Hispanic population in several years.
Free/Reduced Priced Meals: The 2021-22 free and reduced meal program eligibility is approximately 47 percent, which is higher than the state average.
Students in Special Education: Gibbon Public Schools provides services through the special education program to 15.92 percent of our students as of the 2021-2022 school year. This compares to 12.31 percent for the state.
Students Receiving ELL Services: As of the 2021-2022 school year, Gibbon Public Schools ELL program participation is at 17.42 percent. This is almost three times higher than the state average of 7.76 percent.
School Mobility Rate: Our school mobility rate percentage is nearly twice the state average. Over the last couple of years, our rate has remained steady. Gibbon Public Schools percentage of high mobility students (moved at least twice) is consistently twice as high as the state average.
Graduation Rate: Gibbon Public Schools exceeds the state graduation rate most years.
