Meet the 2024 VAMB Leadership

Conference Founder

Giantslayer, a public health consultancy led by Nathan Earl, is dedicated to preventing trauma and violence experienced by boys and men and 2SLGBTQ+ young people. At Giantslayer, we recognize that violence is not solely a gender-specific issue and that boys and men are highly impacted. We are passionate about safeguarding the rights and well-being of vulnerable individuals and ensuring health equity for all. We offer critical insights into the unique challenges faced by males that allow us to address the often-overlooked aspects of human trafficking and other forms of individual, family, and community violence and associated sequela.  We also provide trauma-informed patient/client-centered consulting, training, and other capacity-building services informed by evidence and lived-experience.

2024 VAMB Steering Committee

20 lived experience experts and cross-sector professionals from around the world spent two years collaborating to develop the 2024 International Conference on Violence against Men and Boys.  They dedicated and donated a tremendous amount of time, expertise, and critical support to making this project a success. This event would not have been possible without their guidance and expertise.  We invite you to get to know each of them by visiting their websites and portfolios.

Fiscal Sponsor and Strategic Partner

Kristi House, strategic partner and fiscal sponsor of VAMB, operates as Miami-Dade County’s children’s advocacy center, dedicated to treating and preventing child sexual abuse, trafficking and other childhood trauma. As such, they are responsible for coordinating support for child victims’ legal, medical, and social services needs. Founded in 1995 as a private, not-for-profit 501(c)3 organization, Kristi House provides an integrated solution for families navigating the healing process. The Center is nationally recognized for its evidence-based, therapeutic expertise in treating child trauma. In particular, the Steering Committee thanks Lara Carter, Natalie Brown, Sam Joseph, and Theresa Kennedy who have devoted their professional expertise and time on behalf of Kristi House.
