Meet the VAMB Leadership

Conference Host

giantslayer. is a public health consultancy dedicated to preventing trauma and violence experienced by boys and men and 2SLGBTQ+ young people. At giantslayer., we recognize that violence is not solely a gender-specific issue and that boys and men are highly impacted. We are passionate about safeguarding the rights and well-being of vulnerable individuals and ensuring health equity for all. We offer critical insights into the unique challenges faced by males that allow us to address the often-overlooked aspects of human trafficking and other forms of individual, family, and community violence and associated sequela.  We also provide trauma-informed patient/client-centered consulting, training, and other capacity-building services informed by evidence and lived-experience.

Conference Co-Host

VAMB Steering Committee

24 lived experience experts and cross-sector professionals representing more than 20 organizations from around the world have been collaborating since 2022 to develop the 2024 International Conference on Violence against Men and Boys.  They have dedicated a tremendous amount of time and priceless support to making this project a success. Fiscal Sponsor and Strategic Partner

Kristi House, strategic partner and fiscal sponsor of VAMB, operates as Miami-Dade County’s children’s advocacy center, dedicated to treating and preventing child sexual abuse, trafficking and other childhood trauma. As such, they are responsible for coordinating support for child victims’ legal, medical, and social services needs. Founded in 1995 as a private, not-for-profit 501(c)3 organization, Kristi House provides an integrated solution for families navigating the healing process. The Center is nationally recognized for its evidence-based, therapeutic expertise in treating child trauma and giantslayer is honored to partner with them. In particular, giantslayer wants to thank Lara Carter, Natalie Brown, and Theresa Kennedy who have devoted their professional expertise and time on behalf of Kristi House.

Additional Contributors and Volunteers

This event would not be possible without the generous support of our dedicated volunteers along with the individuals and businesses who have contributed their time, expertise, and consultation throughout the planning process. We are honored and grateful to have your support and advocacy.
