Tropical Storm Sinlaku is getting stronger and is expected to pass very close to Guam Monday night into Tuesday.
Strong winds (39 mph or more) are possible as early as Monday morning.
Very strong typhoon winds (74 mph or more) are possible Monday night into early Tuesday.
Heavy rain and flooding are also possible across the island.
Clear drains and gutters so rainwater can flow away from your home.
Pick up and secure loose items outside (toys, trash cans, tents, canopies, tools, building materials).
Take down any signs that could fly away in strong winds.
Prepare an emergency kit with food and water for 7–10 days for everyone in your home.
Include medicines, cleaning/disinfectant supplies, flashlights, batteries, and pet food.
Put important papers (birth certificates, IDs, tax papers, insurance) in a waterproof bag or container.
Review your family emergency plan: where you will stay, how you will contact each other, and what to do if the power goes out.
Make special plans for elderly family members, people with disabilities, and pets who may need extra help.
Keep checking official updates from NWS Guam and Guam Homeland Security/Office of Civil Defense for new advisories and instructions.
