Earth Day Promise

Have your child colour, paint or cut and glue from construction paper a round earth. Place a green hand print in the middle of the circle. Then brainstorm with your child ways to help take care of our earth. Students should write a couple sentences about their promise to our earth.

Animal Homes

Some animals are domestic (people need to take care of them by feeding them and giving them a place to live) while some animals are wild (they find their own food and shelter) Watch this video about animals homes and then pick your own wild or domestic animal. Draw a picture of their habitat. You could also make a 3D diorama with an empty shoe box and construction paper, if you wanted!

Want to learn how plants move water around inside them? Then try our amazing color-changing celery experiment,. You could even try this experiment with white flowers like carnations.

Plant Experiment

Watch the first video to see how to set up your experiment. Make a prediction about each seed. Do you think a plant can grow without sun, soil, or water? Plant your seeds and and observe what happens. You could keep your observations in a journal once or twice a week. Draw a picture and write a sentence about what each plant looks like. After you have observed your plant for 2-3 weeks watch the second video to see if you got the same results!
