Assessment

Screener - used to identify or predict students who may be at risk for poor learning outcomes and followed by additional testing or short-term progress monitoring to corroborate students’ risk status. This is an assessment distal, or not closely aligned, to the instruction or intervention

Diagnostic - used to identify a student’s specific skill deficits and strengths to guide intervention

Progress Monitoring - used to assess students’ academic performance, to quantify a student's rate of improvement or responsiveness to instruction, and to evaluate the effectiveness of instruction

MTSS (Multi Tiered System of Support) - a systematic approach to support all learners
