Requirements for a "C"
With your knowledge of mechanisms, your group will use the design process to design and build a mechanism or series of mechanisms that will meet the following criteria:
The mechanism is to be built entirely from VEX parts.
The mechanism is to be built on a small, four-wheel chassis capable of being pulled across a smooth and level surface where the toy will move as a result of the movement of the wheels.
A gear mechanism attached to the wheels will make another part of the pull toy move.
An illustration should be added to the output of the mechanism so as to simulate the toy.
Individually imagine a solution. Include sketches of the mechanism(s) you will use and the subject and theme of your pull toy. Label mechanisms and subjects and theme. Be prepared to share your DETAILED sketch with your teammates tomorrow, and to include this in your final presentation.
After EACH team member generates an original idea and sketch, come to a consensus as a team on what you will build for a pull toy. Discuss details, mechanisms, and design elements then create a detailed sketch with mechanisms and story.
Once your teacher approves your plan, begin building!
