Fall Get-Away
As the fall season arrives, many Ralston students are packing their bags and heading out for exciting adventures. From concerts to international trips, our Eagles are exploring new places and making unforgettable memories!
Honey Green (8th Grade) is thrilled to be traveling to Phoenix, Arizona, this November to see her favorite artist, Billie Eilish, perform live on November 18th and 19th. Honey shared how excited she is for the concerts. This trip is sure to be one she will never forget!
Stephanie Medina Ruiz (8th Grade) will spend some time in Tijuana, Mexico, visiting family and enjoying the city's vibrant culture. While there, she will explore Tijuana’s downtown area, known as Colonia Zona Centro. She will visit a large Mexican candy store, and eat at a delicious local taco place.
Leah Delgado (8th Grade) is going to Mexicali, Mexico, to visit her family. During her stay, she plans to spend time catching up with relatives she has not seen in a while and learning more about her family’s traditions. The trip will give her a deeper appreciation for her roots and the special connections that bring families together.
Whether Eagles are seeing their favorite musicians or reconnecting with family, they will be making the most of their fall adventures!

Amber Tran (8th), is going to visit her uncle in New York. Her uncle is turning 35 years old and she is staying in Manhattan. She will also be celebrating Thanksgiving there. She is very excited and grateful to experience it for the first time.
Taylor Doung (8th), will be visiting Vietnam. She is staying at a famous resort called Six Senses Con Dao with her whole family. This resort is very luxurious and she is incredibly exited.

Jesus Landa (8th grade) is so excited that him and his family are traveling all the way to Japan for fall break. It is their first big trip together, which makes it extra special. He cannot wait to try the new and yummy food, like tasty Ramen with rich broth, or savory fried pork cutlets called tonkatsu. He is also looking forward to finding some delicious snacks at Japanese convenience stores, known as konbini.
Trinity Nguyen (8th grade) is absolutely overjoyed for her fall break trip to Las Vegas! She is getting to spend the whole vacation with her cousins, who she has not seen in over a year. They will have plenty of time to catch up and make new memories together.

What's Cookin' Good Lookin' ?
As November is coming up, a few students would like to share their special dishes that they make with their special person:
Madina Noori (7th) says, "My special people are my parents and we make turkey and mashed potatoes."
Allan Posadas (7th) says, "My special person is my mom and we make eggs and other yummy foods."

Elena Mojica (7th) stated “A special person I can cook with is 7th grader Chloe Thoi, we have made ramen to homemade cinnabons”.
Elly Nguyen (7th) also likes to cook with Chloe. They have made fried rice and ramen, too.
Cali Mejia (7th) said she likes to cook with student Elena Mojica. Some things they have made is Funfetti cake pops and even apple cider cookies.

Helene Reynoso (8th) loves to cook with her family. She enjoys making tamales with her mom, cousins, and brother. The main reason why she loves to cook is because she likes to work with her family.
Cooking with loved ones is very important because it lets people to catch up and that is a gift.
-Emma Leos (8th)
Mohammed Abid (8th) cooks a variety of meals with his mom. They spend special Saturdays cooking together for Eid and also Thanksgiving. They cook up delicious meals like fried rice with shrimp, and stir fried noodles. They also cook Italian dishes like pasta.
Cooking and bonding with a special person is true Thanksgiving magic.

Kaitlin Ta (8th) says that her favorite family dish is self-serve hot pot! Whenever she makes this, she prepares the ingredients for this feast with her mom and brother. Her family's version of the hot pot includes enoki mushrooms, lettuce, noodles, different types of meat, and a broth. At the end of the day, she enjoys this dish with her cousins, aunts, uncle, and grandparents.
Klaire Phan (8th) says she makes seafood boil with her family. Her special people are her parents, who cook up a delicious mix of craw fish, shrimp, sausage, corn, and potatoes. with a mouthwatering sauce that everyone enjoys.
Cooking with family and friends is a great way to connect over fall break.

Ralston Scholars are ready for their fall break as they already have their break organized!
There are some scholars who have shared what their plans are for the break as it is just around the corner!
Angelina Nguyen (8th) would like to enjoy her break in her own way. She is all about games, whether it is video games, board games, or getting outside for some sports. When she is not playing, she is usually spending time with her family sharing meals, chatting, and just bonding together. She says that fall break is the perfect chance to reconnect with family and get a break from school.
Britney Hoang (8th) will stay entertained by binge watching her favorite shows while eating brunch. She will also practice her flute after playing badminton with her dad. Lastly, she will draw while listening to music. This will give her a chance to feel relaxed from all the schoolwork she has been working hard on.

As the cool breezes settle in, many people like Nam Pham (7th), find their energy levels dropping. To recharge, he will spend some time either going on a vacation trip to Las Vegas or simply staying at home playing games like Madden 23 or Fifa 24. He might even hang out with his friends at the mall or move theater.
Another 7th grader, Andy Tran, spends most of his time chilling, spending his days sleeping and hanging out with his cats. His days follow with a relaxed routine, focused on quiet comfort over busy activities. Passing the time with his cats and his bed.

Janice Tran (7th) will stay entertained by playing Roblox with her friends and also by making crafts.
Brielle Au (8th) plans to hangout with her friends at her house and at the mall. Hangout time will let them create many wonderful memories.

Eagles are expressing their gratitude during this time of the year. Here is what Ralston is saying that they are grateful for:
Linda Reyes (8th) says that she is very grateful for her family because they play an important role in her life. She is thankful that they have supported her along the way and are always there when she needs them.
Siberia Hernandez-Ruiz (8th) is also thankful for her parents because they pay important bills and provide everything for her.

Abril Escobar (8th) says she she is grateful for her dog, Rufo and her house. She is grateful for her dog because he is kind and is fun to have as company. She is grateful for her house because it keeps her safe and secure.
Michelle Pham (8th grade) says she is grateful for her family, friends, Labubus, and her volleyball. She is extremely grateful for these people and items because they give her joy.
Miranda Ponce (8th)
Another person taking time to appreciate everything and everyone we have in our lives, is Allan Posadas (7th). He is grateful for the talent he has in soccer. He is also glad that he can attend school and has good friends.
Phillip Tran (8th) is grateful for his family, Jesus, and his friends.
Matthew Brasov (8th) says he is most thankful for his family, friends, and just being alive.

Genesis Contreras (7th) says that she is grateful for her friends who are always there for her. She is also grateful for her family who work hard for each other. Lastly, she is grateful for the opportunity to an education.
Logan Meng (7th) says that he is grateful for the friends that he has because they always care for him. Logan also said that he loves his family because they provide for him. He says that he loves his parents for all that they do for him.

Katie Leon Soto (8th) says that she is grateful for her best friends Ava Montes And Ava Mata because they bring her and her family so much energy and joy.
Sofia Arzate (8th) says that she is grateful for her friends and family, because they help and support her when she needs them. She is also grateful for her friends, because they always make her laugh and smile.

When Benny Do (8th) and Truc Tam Nguyen (8th) were asked what they were grateful for in their life, they said music because it is calming during stressful situations. They also said family. "My family is very special to me and they help motivate me throughout the school year," Truc expressed.

Dominik Palacios (7th) stated that she is grateful for her parents because they provide so much love and support and they work so hard to get to where they are now. Dominik is also grateful for her education, because some people are not privileged to have the same opportunity.
Kyle Nguyen (7th) says he is very grateful for his friends and family because he gets along with them very well. Kyle also says that he appreciates that them being there whenever he needs someone to talk to. Lastly, he is grateful for the $5 meal deals at McDonalds. McDonalds is always there for him.

Philip Chu (8th) says that he is thankful for school. Without a doubt, he feels that not enough people in the world share their gratitude in being able to get an education. He believes that he is very fortunate, because other people in the world are not able to afford school.
