Partnership Highlight

Over the last 4 years GGUSD has partnered with the Illumination Institute to provide mindfulness training for students, parents, teachers and other school staff. To date, GGUSD had trained over 300 teachers on how to use mindfulness in their classrooms. Teachers and students appreciate the calm focus that mindfulness brings to learning. The Illumination Institute is a great community partner and we thank them for sharing the mindfulness practices below:

Ready for More Mindfulness?

For a fee, the Illumination Institute can work with you to bring trainings to your school on mindfulness. This can include the following:


  • Mindfulness for staff - A 60-minute workshop focusing on helping staff to use mindfulness for self-care and wellness

  • Mindfulness for parents - A 60-minute workshop focusing on helping parents to use mindfulness for self-care and wellness

  • Curriculum for the Classroom - A 3-4 hour workshop teaching educators to use a weekly mindfulness lessons for students. There are separate curriculum training modules for grades TK-2, 3-6, and 7-12. Teachers learn how to use the curriculum with their students

  • Mindfulness as an Intervention - A 2-3 hour workshop for support staff to work with students in small groups using mindful techniques

  • Mindfulness Advisor - The Illumination Institute can provide a part-time individual to help your school plan, implement, coach and sustain mindfulness based activities. This may include direct teaching of mindfulness to students and/or coaching for staff to use the mindfulness curriculum
