Life of a Marketing Assistant

December 2017 ~ Month 3

Adobe Premiere and Green Screens

Life of a Marketing Assistant ~ December 10th, 2017 ~ I've been with Vyral for only 3 months now and I am learning and doing so much as a marketer! In the past month I have learned a lot about video editing, I have had to do green screen editing, to complete video take apart editing!

Not everyone will follow this path, and Vyral is not specifically training me how to do it. However, they have provided me all the tools to be able to learn it on my own and they support me learning it all!

Being proactive will play such a big role in your experience, because almost everything I have been given is fairly new to me. I've never used premiere before in my life until last month, and now I am editing videos that have been sitting around for the last 6 months waiting because no one else knew how to get them or didn't have the time.

I've also been writing copy, videos are so fun and mind consuming I really didn't have a fear of them, but writing I definitely have fear of. Throughout your academic career it is all about B.S.ing your paper for a number count, this writing is completely different.

When you are writing copy for an Ad or Sales Letter everything you write should have value, you don't want to be B.S.ing because no one is going to continue reading it. They aren't being paid to read it, hopefully, you will get paid if they read it though.

With writing a Sale Letter, or anything for someone else you have to find their voice in your writing. That was a big challenge for me this week, it is easy to write in the voice of a narrator but this week I had to literally put myself in their shoes and make the letter sound as if it was coming from the partner.

These challenges make everyday exciting!

Facebook ads

Life as a Marketing Assistant ~ December 18th, 2017 ~ This week has been much more than just Facebook Ads, I have worked on video editing, Sales Letters, Write-ups, Email Drafts, and learned how to add captions in Premiere.

However, until now Facebook Ads have always been done by someone else and I just saw it happening. At the beginning of the week, I started doing Lynda training's for Facebook ads, and the best way to really utilize the training is to create your own ad account. I've been considering doing Photography on the side so I started my own Photography FB page and ad account.

I used an old Visa Gift card that has like $5 left on it to set up the account so I can make ads, but I keep everything turned off so I am not spending, just practicing. Being able to make ads and test out everything helps so much with being able to navigate Facebook Ads! I don't have to worry that I'll screw a partner's account up, or waste someone else's money and that allows you to click on things without anxiety.

By chance this week I also ended up having to make Facebook ads for a partner, I was so glad I had already done the above because I was not nearly as worried about it when I had to make them. I already knew how to navigate Facebook's business page and I knew I could turn them off and not actually spend money. As long as I didn't delete anything I knew I wouldn't be able to do real damage.

When learning how to do anything I suggest finding a way to test it, knowing that there will be no consequences! Also, don't wait to be told how and when to do something, be proactive and just do it!

November 2017 ~ Month 2

Promoted

November 17th, 2017 ~ I have been PROMOTED to full-time. I'm super excited that after only 6 weeks I was chosen to be Adela's assistant alongside Sandy and help out with any work that needs to be done. In just one day I have got to work with Sandy on how the Vyral Marketing Interviews get promoted after the webinar and I've got to see how Facebook ads are set up.

Seeing it done I have complete confidence that one day I will be able to do these things just as easily. It is exciting to start and see what the future holds!
