Soccer at TCGIS is a fall sport (generally from September through early November).
The 5th & 6th grade team will be comprised of a maximum of 18 players and will practice on Mondays at 3:30-5 PM at TCGIS or McMurray Fields. Games will be on Wednesdays at locations around the Twin Cities.
The 7th & 8th grade team will be comprised of a maximum of 20 players and will practice on Tuesdays at 3:30-5 PM at TCGIS or McMurray Fields. Games will be on Fridays at locations around the Twin Cities.
Families are responsible for transportation to and from games. Carpool options will be made available for those interested.
Coach Braunmiller was introduced to soccer fandom while living in Germany and quickly became a fan of the Bundesliga team VfB Stuttgart. Since moving back to the US, she continues to keep up with the Bundesliga and follow the success of VfB Stuttgart (2025 DFB Pokalsieger!!). Coach Braunmiller also enjoys watching the Minnesota Timberwolves, Vikings, and the Loons.
Coach Braunmiller has played and coached softball, basketball, and tennis in the past and is looking forward to this new role as a soccer coach. She is also the 7th and 8th grade English/Humanities teacher at TCGIS. In her free time, Coach Braunmiller enjoys reading, traveling, spending time outdoors, and playing with her 4 year old daughter, Pippa, and her dog, Hamlet.
Coach Fretwell has been an avid soccer fan all her life and played on her newly founded college team (Bundeswehr Uni Hamburg) as well as for the SC Eilbek in the Verbandsliga in Hamburg, Germany.
After relocating to the UK she played for the Dereham FC. When she lived in Florida she found a co-ed league to play in and most recently played for the Shooting Stars in the Minnesota Womens Soccer League.
She is excited that her 5 year old is playing on her first team now too.
Coach Fretwell has an Übungsleiterschein (German coaching license) and has been a cross country/track coach in the past.
