Kevin Eberhard

Head Coach - 7th & 8th Grade Team

I started playing club soccer in Austria when I was 5 years old. My dad had been a semi-professional soccer player and coach in various leagues in Austria, and he passed on his enthusiasm for soccer to me. My first club was in my hometown of Proleb, which is about 45 minutes north of Graz. In my early years, I played as a striker and I remember winning trophies for most goals scored. As a teenager, I transferred to a more competitive youth club that was affiliated with the then-second league team of DSV Leoben. In U13 and U15, we regularly played the youth teams of Austria's biggest soccer clubs such as Sturm Graz and GAK. My team was particularly good at Futsal, which was newly introduced at the time, and we won a few state championships. At the age of 15, I made it into the second team of DSV Leoben and regularly started playing as a winger against adults alongside professional soccer players from the first team. While being on the verge of making the first team, the club went bankrupt, was relegated, and had to quit professional soccer. That's when I decided that soccer would only be a hobby for me, and I went on to study at the University of Graz.

While studying, I still played soccer at various clubs - then as a central midfields - such as my hometown club FC Proleb as well as SK Werndorf and SV Strass, where I was fortunate enoug to make many new friends and earn some money. Here in the US, I found a group of guys to play soccer with and we play in MRSL all around the Twin Cities. I am really looking forward to passing on my enthusiasm and experience in soccer to TCGIS students this year!

Thomas Wicho

Head Coach - 5th & 6th Grade Eistaucher Team

Hi, my Name is Thomas Wicho. I’m from Austria and I love all kinds of sports. My favorite sport overall is soccer. I love playing it with my friends, celebrate the games we won or support each other when we lost. I played in different clubs at a local level and started coaching 4 years ago. Since then, I completed two soccer coaching diplomas of the Austrian Soccer Association (ÖFB). I love to teach kids how to play soccer and I’m very looking forward being your coach for the next season. We are going to have a lot of fun! :D

Kirsten Partenheimer

Head Coach - 5th & 6th Grade Gavia immer Team

My name is Coach Kirsten and many know me as the coach of the cross-country ski team. My first love was soccer, though, a sport I grew up playing in my home state of New Jersey (where Nordic skiing was unheard of). I played competitively through high school, but as an adult I found joy in playing pick-up and in rec leagues. As I moved from Switzerland to Germany and finally settled in Minnesota, soccer transcended cultures and was a way to make friends in new places. Eventually work and family demands, along with age, forced me to hang up my cleats, but coaching has allowed me to stay involved with both soccer and the TCGIS school community.

This will be my third season with 5th and 6th grade soccer. In addition to coaching, I’m mom to Matteo, (6th grade) Kiera, (7th grade) Soren, (7th grade) Oliver, (9th grade and TCGIS Class of 2024) and Sadie, our wild and lovable Lab/English setter mix.
