Georgia Southern hosted its first cohort of REU fellows in 2019 under the direction of the Institute for Coastal Plains Science. Today, the program is hosted by the Department of Biology at Georgia Southern. RESCoPE aims to provide enriching experiences for a variety of undergraduates including those from underrepresented minorities in STEM and students from academic institutions with limited access to research.
Previous fellows have completed a wide variety of projects during their time at Georgia Southern. Our REU program has hosted fellows enrolled at 42 universities from 18 states, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands.

Looking to join the next cohort of RESCoPE REU fellows? Applications for the 2025 cohort of the RESCoPE REU at Georgia Southern University will open on November 11, 2024. Applications will remain open until March 1st, 2025.
