Independent Study in Mathematics is an advanced math class which is designed to allow students opportunities to explore various topics in math outside of the typical math coursework. Students who have already taken Calculus can go on to explore more advanced Calculus topics (such as Integration Techniques, Series, Polar, Parametric, and Vector Calculus, Multivariate Calculus, etc.) Students can also study Linear Algebra, Discrete Math, History of Math, and other college level math courses. Students can work in a self-paced environment, exploring math that interests them. The course is flexible to allow students opportunities to engage in discovery-based learning, project-based learning, give presentations, participate in math competitions, and most importantly to have fun! Reach out to Mrs. Hise if you have any questions about this course.
