Athletic training encompasses the prevention, examination, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of emergent, acute or chronic injuries and medical conditions. Athletic training is recognized by the American Medical Association (AMA), Health Resources Services Administration (HRSA) and the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) as an allied health care profession.
HOURS: High school student-athletes should be here no later than 7:45am for in-person evaluations/treatments unless otherwise directed by one of the staff athletic trainers.
LOCATION: The athletic training room is located behind the high school in the football fieldhouse. The football fieldhouse is north of the tennis courts and directly across the street from the back of the cafeteria in the building that says "We Build Champions". Enter the glass doors and the athletic training room is the first door on your left.
Chad was born and raised in Odessa, TX. He attended Abilene Christian University ('00) and worked as a Student Athletic Trainer with the football and women's softball teams. While there he received his bachelor's degree in Exercise and Sports Sciences. He then went to the University of Miami (FL) ('04) where he obtained his Master's degree in Education with an emphasis in Sports Medicine. While with the Hurricanes, he worked with the football, baseball, and women's rowing teams. After leaving Miami, Chad accepted a job as an Athletic Training Assistant with the New Orleans Saints of the National Football League, where the athletic training staff was named the Professional Football Athletic Trainers Society Athletic Training Staff of the year for the 2005 season. He served with the Saints for two seasons before moving to Georgetown where he is currently in his 16th year as an Athletic Trainer at Georgetown High School. Chad is married to Jamie Hennessey who works as a Physical Therapist with Baylor Scott & White Institute for Rehabilitation in Georgetown and they have one child, Caleb.

Vanessa is in her 14th year at Georgetown High School. Vanessa and her husband Jason have two daughters, Maliah (6) and Meilani (2) . Vanessa grew up in San Antonio, TX where she attended Sandra Day O'Connor High School ('03). She then attended the University of Texas at Austin ('07) where she graduated with a degree in Kinesiology with a specialization in Athletic Training. While at Texas, she served as a Student Athletic Trainer with various sports including Track and Field, Football, and Women's Basketball. She also spent a semester as an Athletic Training Intern at Leander High School. After graduation, Vanessa spent two years as a Certified Intern Athletic Trainer at the University of California - Berkeley. While at Cal she provided coverage for the Football team and Softball team who advanced to the Super Regionals during both of her years there. In 2009 she finished up her one year master's program through California University of Pennsylvania where she attained her Masters of Science in Exercise and Health Promotion with a specialization in Rehabilitation Sciences.
