Space security in general, and the issue of "space weapons" in particular is an issue of concern for all stakeholders in space. It raises many questions in the world of law and policy about the activities that State and non-State actors can and should be engaging in with regards to the space domain.
The Space Law Society is thrilled to welcome back its former President, and space security expert Daniel Porras, to chat about the Law and Policy of Space Weapons, and clarify some of the questions that this matter raises for law & policy practitioners and academicians alike.
Daniel is the Director of Strategic Partnerships and Communications at the Secure World Foundation. He works to develop partnerships and conduct outreach for the development of sustainable norms of behavior in space. He is also a Non-Resident Fellow at the UN Institute for Disarmament Research, where he focuses on political and legal issues surrounding space security.
This virtual chat was our first ever event open to the general public. It was recorded, and is accessible on our YouTube page. Click the image to access the video!
