Tuesday, August 4
Your Orientation to the Flex MBA Program is on the evening of Tuesday, August 4, and is designed to prepare you for your MBA program by introducing you to platforms and tools to help you succeed, familiarizing you with standards and expectations, and most importantly, welcoming you to the Georgetown McDonough community.
Monday, August 10 – Friday, August 21
On August 10, Flex MBA students will begin their first MBA course. This two-week period is intense and fast-paced, and will unite curriculum, community, and career through a combination of Program Office and Career Center programming, networking opportunities, and your MBA coursework. You should expect to have multiple evening commitments during this period, along with commitments during the day on a Friday and Saturday.
Mark these dates on your calendar, but please note the schedule may change prior to the start. Use this information as a general guide. Additional Opening Term information should be available by mid-December, and your specific cohort information and schedule will be provided in late-July.
Following the completion of Opening Term, you will begin the traditional Fall semester on August 26.
Please note that some courses may require you to purchase additional materials through a custom coursepack or other materials available online; instructions on how to purchase those items will be delivered by your faculty. Faculty will post course materials shortly before their classes begin. If needed, textbooks can be purchased either in the bookstore or from online sources.
We recommend that you purchase a Texas Instrument BA-II Plus or HP 12C financial calculator. These models were chosen because they are the only calculators allowed for the CFA exams. Other types of calculators may not be approved by your faculty.
