Your MBA journey begins with a transformative two-week Opening Term in August, designed to ground you in the values and spirit of Georgetown McDonough. Centered on three core themes—Curriculum, Community, and Career—the Opening Term sets the foundation for your academic and professional success, and serves as both your orientation to the program and your first MBA course.
You will immerse yourself in the McDonough experience: learning about Georgetown’s mission and global perspective, connecting deeply with your classmates, and discovering the resources that will shape your growth throughout the program. Through your first MBA course, you’ll begin developing essential power skills in leadership, feedback, ethical decision-making, and integrated data analytics and AI—skills that will prepare you to lead thoughtfully, engage authentically, and make an impact from day one.
Review the information for your program and mark the dates on your calendar for Opening Term 2026, but please note the schedule may change prior to the start. Use this information as a general guide.
*Orientation event accommodation requests should be sent to mbaprogramoffice@georgetown.edu at least 7 days prior to the event. A good-faith effort will be made to fulfill requests made afterwards.
Submit academic accommodations requests to the Academic Resource Center as described on the linked page.
