The Office of Graduate Enrichment (OGE) fosters student learning and development by educating the Georgetown community through co-curricular involvement. As advocates for student empowerment, we strive to engage students in meaningful participation and thoughtful reflection. OGE supports students in the building of a vibrant and diverse campus community with active cultural, academic, social, recreational, and political organizations and programming.
The Graduate Student Government (GradGov) is committed to enriching the experience of students enrolled in graduate programs at Georgetown University. Recognizing the incredible array of skills and interests graduate students bring to the Georgetown community, GradGov seeks to create opportunities for graduate students to develop professionally, socially, and academically.
The Georgetown University Department of Performing Arts (DPA) coordinates a variety of programs that emphasize both the cultural and educational aspects of the arts. These programs include performing arts ensembles in music, theater, and dance; concerts and productions; master classes and workshops; applied music lessons; collaborative productions with professional companies like Arena Stage, American Opera Theater and the Post- Classical Ensemble; internship programs with NPR and the Kennedy Center: and summer theater performing opportunities.
The Yates Field House is a 138,000 square foot recreational center that houses the intramural, group fitness, personal training, aquatics and open recreation programs for the University community. Inside Yates are a 25 yard, 8 lane pool, courts for squash, golf, racquetball and tens. There are complete cardiovascular and weight training areas, as well as basketball and volleyball courts. Kehoe Field is on the roof of Yates. The synthetic Astroturf field is used for intramurals, club sports, and open recreation. All graduate students, enrolled for 9 credit hours or more of class work, pay a mandated fee, and are automatically members. All other graduate students and their families are eligible for memberships. There is an additional fee for the group fitness classes.
The Club Sports Program is made up of 25 sports, which compete against other club sports from various colleges and universities nationwide. As student organizations, they are coordinated by student captains. These clubs can be a large commitment as most practice at least once or twice a week and compete in games on many weekends.
The Georgetown University Outdoor Education program runs a vast array of wilderness education and adventure opportunities that help participants learn new skills, develop self confidence, advance their leadership skills, and explore the wonderful outdoor opportunities near to the city, in the surrounding region, and around the world.
