Who we are
MMC SUSTAIN is a Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation-funded technical assistance project implemented by Genesis Analytics.
Our strategic objective is to support the South African VMMC program to transition from scale-up to sustainability. We provide targeted technical advice to the national VMMC unit, as well as eight high-HIV burden districts in KwaZulu-Natal, Mpumalanga and Gauteng.
This Learning Library is intended as a free, public-access platform that consolidates our documented approach, tools, resources, processes and lessons learned while supporting the South African Department of Health (DoH) to transition the VMMC program toward sustainability.
Technical focus areas
MMC SUSTAIN provides targeted technical assistance to the national and eight district DoH, aimed at building a resilient, sustainable VMMC program. This includes:
Integrating and budgeting VMMC into health plans
Coordinating stakeholders to plan & implement the program
Strengthening domestic-funded service provision contract management
Using data for planning, target setting & implementation at all levels
Ensuring quality control processes are integrated & implemented by DoH
Reinforcing a sense of ownership, motivation and capacity among DoH officials
