be generous
who can be generous?
Anyone with a generous heart may donate new, unused, nonperishable items! We have an amazing network of generous donors that include large corporations, stores and vendors with excess inventory, and individual donors.
what types of items do we accept?
Generous Joy will help find a home for almost any donated item that is new, unused, and nonperishable. Just to give you an example, some of our recent donations have included:
Baby items (strollers, car seats, play yards)
Office supplies (writing, glue sticks, markers)
Personal care items (hair brushes, hair ties, clips, toothbrushes)
Activity Items (e.g., pedometers)
Clothing (new, with or without tags)
Gift cards (e.g., free sandwich coupon cards)
etc...
what condition of items do we accept?
Generous Joy accepts only new, unused, nonperishable items that are:
New
New, but out of the box
New, but damaged packaging
New, but missing packaging, tags, or instructions
Returned (unused by a consumer, and still meeting quality standards)
Items used for quality testing (unused by a consumer, and still meeting quality standards)
Excess & Obsolete (E&O) items
The focus of Generous Joy is on new, unused, nonperishable items as described above. We are unable to accept items that have been used by a consumer, or items that are perishable (i.e. food). However, there are many nonprofits that would gladly accept the items that we cannot. We encourage you to please find one in your community (e.g. local food pantry, Good Will, Salvation Army, etc).
how do we collect the items?
We will gladly arrange pickup of the items at your convenience. Simply contact us (we currently have volunteers in the Atlanta area for local donations).
Or... donations may be shipped or hand delivered directly to our address:

Or... please contact us to make other arrangements, including the option to donate your items directly to a non-profit in need.
are donations tax deductible?
Yes!
While we work on obtaining our own 501(c)(3) status (which we hope to obtain in 2021), tax receipts will be provided directly from the benefiting organization (i.e. if you donate carseats to Generous Joy, and we then deliver them to March of Dimes, then your tax receipt will come from March of Dimes).
However, once Generous Joy obtains its own 501(c)(3) designation, all tax receipts will be provided by Generous Joy. Please stay tuned!
how can you donate items?

do we accept cash donations?
We would love to accept monetary donations to Generous Joy. However, we are not yet 501(c)(3) status. We are actively working to obtain that designation so that you may make a tax-deductible cash contribution to Generous Joy. Please stay tuned!
