about us
Mission
Our mission is to create joy through generous giving.
Vision
Our vision is to identify ongoing needs in the non-profit community that can be met through donations of new, unused, non-perishable items from our wide network of generous donors.
Our story
Generous Joy was founded by Marian Chase in 2021. Our Christian beliefs command us to first, love God; and second, to love each other (Matthew 22:36-39). These beliefs, combined with the commandment to be a cheerful giver (2 Corinthians 9:7) gave birth the idea of Generous Joy. So in 2021, Marian Chase founded Generous Joy in Atlanta, GA. She started collecting new, unused, nonperishable items from generous donors, and delivering those items to people in need through other nonprofit organizations based in Atlanta.
2 Corinthians 9:7 Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
Matthew 22:36-40: “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’

We would also love to accept monetary donations to Generous Joy - which help fund our efforts. However, we are not yet 501(c)(3) status. We are actively working to obtain that designation so that you may make a tax-deductible cash contribution to Generous Joy. Please stay tuned!
