Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month!
The following onboarding steps need to be completed before going to your site and meeting with students:
🔴 All Volunteers - Complete the Readiness Form
The Readiness Form asks important questions about your schedule, emergency contact information, and other preferences.
🔴 All Volunteers - Complete your DocuSign Volunteer Paperwork
The volunteer paperwork includes your volunteer position description and agreement, background check acknowledgement forms, high school certification, and other documents as needed.
The paperwork will also include a space to upload a photo of your current government ID if the ID we have on file has expired.
If you are volunteering with Framingham, Chelsea, or Boston Boys & Girls Clubs, your site CORI forms will be included in the DocuSign paperwork. Your site CORI needs to be completed by the site before you can go to the site and start meeting with students.
The volunteer paperwork will be emailed to the email address we have on file for you. The email will be from DocuSign, our digital paperwork service.
🔴 All Public School Volunteers - Register for fingerprinting and complete your fingerprinting appointment
If you are volunteering at a Boys & Girls Club, you do not need to have fingerprinting done.
Literations pays for the fingerprinting appointments with unique billing codes that we will share with you when you have scheduled your fingerprinting appointment.
For all public school volunteers (Boston, Chelsea and Framingham) you will need to have your fingerprints run through Identogo:
If you’d like to schedule the appointment over the phone, please Sign Up for a 15 minute call time here.
Unfortunately, fingerprinting locations are very limited in Boston (see Identogo Locations). If you think transportation will be difficult for you in Boston, please let us know.
PLEASE NOTE: THE NEEDHAM STAPLES LOCATION IS UNAVAILABLE AT THIS TIME. If you do register for an appointment there you will need to reschedule somewhere else.
If you’d like to schedule the appointment on your own, you can follow the below instructions:
Select “Register for In-State Digital Fingerprinting Services”
Select “Pre-K - 12th Grade Education (ESE)”
Select “All Other School Personnel”
Enter the provider codes for Boston, Chelsea, and Framingham Public Schools; please enter all three codes, regardless of where you are volunteering:
Boston: 00350000
Chelsea: 00570000
Framingham: 01000000
The same prints can be sent to multiple locations, but only if the codes are entered during the registration process; therefore, we ask that you enter all codes in case you ever come to volunteer in a different school district.
Select “Save and Continue”
Enter in your Zip Code
Select “Schedule” to choose the location and time for your appointment
Enter in the requested personal information
Check the authorization form box
Enter in the rest of your personal information
Select “Submit” to schedule the appointment
When you have scheduled your appointment, email Alyssa Garza at agarza@literations.org to receive your payment code - the payment code is unique to you, and can be used to pay for the $35 fingerprinting at the appointment.
🚩Boys & Girls Club Volunteers - Site CORI & Training Steps
When you have completed your DocuSign Volunteer Paperwork, you will receive email instructions for completing the required following steps:
Confirm your references with the Boys & Girls Club. We will submit the same reference contacts that you used with your Literations application on your behalf. Your references will need to complete the Boys & Girls Club reference forms as well.
Complete a “Preventing Abuse in Youth Serving Organizations” (~45 min) Training
Complete a “BGCB Policy Review Session” (~45 min)
Once these steps are completed, they will never have to be repeated.
🚩 Boston Public School Volunteers - BPS CORI Form
If you are volunteering at a Boston Public School, you will need to complete the BPS CORI Form.
Winship Volunteers: please select the Winship school for your volunteer location. You will need to go to the Winship school at least a week before meeting with students to share your ID with the Winship School office in order for them to run your CORI.
For all other BPS Volunteers, you will need to select “Partner - Literations” for your volunteer location in order for us to process the form:
WAIT! Read it again: Winship volunteers select Winship for their volunteer location, and all other BPS volunteers select “Partner - Literations” for their volunteer location:
🚩 Chelsea Volunteers - Site CORI
Chelsea volunteers need to share a current government ID (such as a Driver’s License or State ID) with the Chelsea Public Schools Human Resorces office in order for them to complete your Site CORI check.
You will need to make an appointment to go to the Chelsea Public School Human Resources office (500 Broadway, Chelsea, MA 02150) and share your ID with them in person at least a week before meeting with students. You can make an appointment by calling 617-466-4170.
If you have any questions about paperwork and background checks, please email Alyssa Garza at agarza@literations.org.
