GEMS Jewels of Kindness - Values Education to encourage children's respect, empathy and appreciation for their parents and grandparents

Dear Parent,

A key focus at GEMS WSR is Values Education to encourage children to respect their parents and elders and to play an active part at home and in their family lives.

In order to encourage such behavior in our children at WSR, GEMS has launched the GEMS Jewels of Kindness, which will begin from the week beginning the 11th October 2020.

GEMS Jewels of Kindness

To support our efforts in Values Education, GEMS will be developing a GEMS Jewels of Kindness Mascot as well as certificates, reflecting the character of the mascot and their kindness.

These mascots and certificates are to be used to recognize and validate acts of kindness by our children in the home.

Primary (KG1 –/Grade 5)

• When our children undertake an act of kindness, respect, empathy or appreciation at home they will be rewarded with a GEMS Jewel of Kindness.

• Eligible acts of kindness must be home based with a particular emphasis on children demonstrating respect for their parents or grandparents.

Parents can send a message (a picture and/or text relating to what their child did and how it made them feel) to WSR via the following email address: GJK_wsr@gemsedu.com

• WSR will gather a weekly list of GEMS Jewels of Kindness

• Each week, we will select winning GEMS Jewels of Kindness. Children will take the Mascot home for the following week and are also interviewed with the Mascot and receive a certificate

• Winners’ video/text clips and photos will be posted on our Facebook and Instagram social media platforms.
