Week Six - October 4th, 2024
Sarah McLean
Head of Primary
Dear Primary Families,
I hope this message finds you well.
I want to take a moment to thank you for your participation in the recent Parent-Teacher Conferences this week. Your involvement is key to supporting your child’s learning journey, and we value the time and energy you invest in these important conversations.
I'd also like to thank you for your support during World Teacher Appreciation Day. The recognition and appreciation shown by both students and parents have truly uplifted our educators! Your quotes will be posted in our staff rooms for teachers to enjoy.
Looking ahead, we are excited that next week is GIS Wellness Week, and our student leaders have been hard at work planning meaningful activities to engage their peers. From mindfulness practices to digital wellness tools, it promises to be a week full of positivity and enrichment for everyone. For our parents, we also have a series of ConnectED sessions facilitated by Vivamus Clinic, an informative session focused on health and wellness strategies (please see below posters for details). We encourage you to attend and benefit from the insights shared during this event. Don't forget on Thursday October 10th students are invited to wear green accessories in recognition of World Mental Health Day.
Lastly, I’d like to highlight the recent success of our Student Leadership Conference this week! It was a fantastic experience for all involved, and I encourage you to read more about it on the Student Life (linked below).
Thank you once again for your continued support and engagement. Together, we are fostering a thriving, well-rounded learning environment for our children.
Have a great weekend ahead!
Warm regards,
Sarah McLean
Parents have all received a notification to sign up for the Toddle platform. This is an exciting enhancement to our parent communication, and this year you will receive weekly updates through the Toddle platform.
This IB affiliated platform will offer opportunities for parents to remain up to date with their child's academic progress.
The below class pages will host resources for parents and will no longer have weekly messages. All information will be sent through Toddle, so please inform your class teacher if you have any trouble registering.
Any absence (whether it is planned or unplanned ) must be communicated via email to the homeroom teacher and gis_primaryleaverequest@gemsedu.com by 8:00 AM. STS/bus users must also copy the STS manger on the email. vijesh.kumar@sts-group.com
A planned or extended absence beyond 2 days requires the completion of an absence request form.
