Week Thirty One - May 12th, 2023
This week the PYP Inclusion Support Teachers have been working alongside the Homeroom teachers to develop our in-class inclusive support strategies. We are really of one of our Grade 5 students for his amazing piano performance during his class assembly and some of our Grade 1 students who showed tremendous confidence with the delivery of her lines during her class assembly. Our Primary SENCo has attended a training focusing on differentiation for the inclusive classroom.
In Secondary, members of the Tareeqi program have sent their CVs and application letters to different departments in the school asking for work experience. This forms part of their ASDAN Volunteering Short Course qualification. One of the students was successful in his application to work alongside the PYP PHE Department and will be helping to teach Grades 1 & 2 over the coming week. Many thanks to Mr. Ryan (Head of PYP PHE) for his support. Other candidates have been successful in their application to work along side various members of our administrative team.

Here at GIS we believe that every child needs a champion, a safe place and an advocate. Rita Pierson says this perfectly in her Ted-Talk.
