Week Thirty - May 16th, 2025
Dear Parents & Guardians
As we move into the second half of May, the excitement (and nerves!) are certainly in the air!
This week, our Grade 11 students officially began their study leave in preparation for their end-of-year exams, which start next week. We wish them the very best as they revise and prepare. We know they’ll approach their assessments with the focus and determination they’ve shown throughout the year. Best of luck to you all
Meanwhile, our amazing Grade 12s are powering through the final days of their IB World exams. We continue to be so proud of their perseverance and positivity. Next week marks a milestone moment as they complete their final papers, followed by their Senior Walk on Thursday, always a highlight and a fitting celebration of their journey through GIS. On Friday, we’ll come together at the beautiful Fairmont on the Palm for their Graduation Ceremony, followed by the Prom on Saturday night. We are so proud of all that the Class of 2025 have accomplished and we look forward to sharing their future success in weeks to come.
Last weekend also saw a momentous occasion for our school community with the launch of our very first GIS MUN Conference. Congratulations to Elisavet and Zainab for their outstanding leadership in organising this inaugural event, which brought together young diplomats and debaters from our school. Thank you as well to Ms Helen, Ms Michaela, and Ms Rena for their invaluable support and guidance in making the event such a success.
And our celebrations don’t stop there! We are also incredibly proud to celebrate our talented team representing GIS at the Codeavour AI & Coding International Showcase Competition in Qatar. Congratulations to Selda, Prajna, Samridhi, Anannya, Bhadra, and Sanchitha for earning a place at such a prestigious event, a testament to their innovation, creativity, and technical skill. A heartfelt thank you to Ms Sheeba for her outstanding leadership and unwavering dedication in preparing our students to shine on the global stage.
Enjoy the week ahead.
Kind regards
Amanda Murphy
