Week Thirty - May 16th, 2025
Dear Primary Families,
It’s been a fantastic week in the PYP and across GIS!
Our Town Hall on May 12th was a great success—it was wonderful to see so many of you there, engaging with our vision and celebrating and asking excellent questions. Your engagement truly makes a difference.
A big thank you as well for joining us for the Student-Led Conferences and the Family First Picnic. These moments of connection and celebration are such an important part of your children's learning journey.
Looking ahead, we’re excited to share details about PYP Arts Week, happening from May 26–30! The primary school will be transformed with vibrant art installations, and students will take part in a variety of creative workshops. One of the highlights of the week will be our PYP Musical: Finding Nemo Jr., with performances on May 28 and 29—we hope to see you there cheering on our young performers! Please reserve your seat through GEMS Connect.
Please also note the upcoming Midterm Break from June 2–4. Additionally, Eid Al Adha may be called on June 5 and 6. As always, confirmation of Eid holidays will be announced by the UAE government closer to the date. If Eid is not officially called, school will be in session as normal on those days.
Finally thank you for your continued support of our external assessments, these tests are important benchmarks to monitor learning and progress. They are ongoing with reading tests taking place this week and make up / re-tests taking place in the coming weeks.
Have a wonderful weekend ahead!
Warm regards,
Sarah McLean
