Week Twenty Five - March 22nd, 2024
Dear Parents & Guardians
As a fully inclusive school, it is with pleasure that I extend my thanks to Ms Hannah, Ms Annalisa and the Inclusion Team who coordinated our Neurodiversity Week in recent days. Each day there was a different focus promoting understanding and acceptance of neurodiverse learners. Thanks also to our Student Inclusion Committee members assisting the Inclusion team and who created videos and activities for students to participate in during Homeroom. Well done to all involved in this really important week.
We also celebrated our Grade 12 Art Exhibition this week. I am always in awe at the talent of our art students. How they generate their ideas and bring them to life through various mediums, has always impressed me, and this week was no different. A huge congratulations to all students involved. I am aware that there have been countless hours of hard work poured into each piece and plenty of out of school time dedicated to this important event. Well done to you all. You have been supported along the way by Ms Mel, and more recently by Ms Laura, and their skill and dedication in guiding you has been greatly appreciated.
Congratulations to our StuELT who hosted the GIS Expo this week. I was amazed at the range of clubs on offer. If any student missed out, we have a Debate Club, Law Club, Writing Club and Art Club to name a few. There is also the Stem Debate Club and Mech X. Please see any member of StuELT should you need further details.
Finally this week, you will receive your son or daughter’s Term Two Report today, or in the case of our Grade 12 students, their Final Report. The report is a culmination of all assessments carried out since the beginning of the academic year. We encourage you to chat to your child regarding their results – there is much to celebrate! The reports will be released on the GEMS Connect app later in the afternoon today. Should you have any questions regarding the reports, please contact the relevant class teacher or Homeroom teacher in the first instance.
I would like to wish you a lovely Spring Break. School will resume on Monday April 15th. We look forward to seeing all of our students back in class on this day, where we will be returning to normal school hours. Students are therefore expected in Homeroom by 8:10 am and depart from school at 3:15pm.
Ramadan Mubarak.
Kind regards
Amanda Murphy
