Week Twenty Four - March 21st, 2025
Dear Parents,
As we wrap up another vibrant week at GIS, we are reminded once again of the heart and spirit that make our community so special.
We are proud to share that GIS has been shortlisted for Digital Innovation at the prestigious MENA School Excellence Awards 2025! This is a tremendous recognition of the creativity, hard work, and future-focused mindset of our educators, students, and tech teams. The awards ceremony will take place on 22nd May, and we’ll be sure to keep you updated.
This week, we also marked Neurodiversity Week with daily contributions from our Student-led Inclusion Committee and our Inclusion Support Team. Through assemblies, student-led initiatives, and a powerful Whole School ConnectEd session, we learned more about the unique ways we all think, learn, and experience the world. Thank you to everyone who took part in raising awareness and celebrating differences.
In celebration of UAE Mother’s Day, our youngest learners in KG1 welcomed parents into their classrooms for a joyful morning of songs, crafts, and stories. Thank you to our wonderful KG team for making this a day to remember. #FamilyFirst
As part of our Ramadan initiatives, our GIS community continues to come together in support of one another. This week, families, students and our Emirati club teamed up with Ms Nomah, Ms Rasha, and GISPA to organize a meaningful food donation drive. Thanks to your generosity, every member of our support staff received a food package filled with essentials and heartfelt appreciation.
Looking ahead, we know many of you are planning for next year. You can find a summary of key dates for the 2025–2026 academic year here: A more detailed calendar will follow shortly. Please also ensure your child’s re-enrollment is completed by 7th April to help us plan effectively for the year ahead.
Finally, a quick reminder that we will return to regular school hours following the Spring Break. We wish all our families a safe, relaxing, and joyful break.
Kind regards,

The Country Ambassador program was launched in 2021 with the intention of helping connect families with their motherland tongue and country. Small community sub groups have been created to help integrate new families from these specific countries as they enroll at GIS. We encourage you to join your country group via the QR code.
Although as a whole, we are one big family, it’s always nice to connect with those from our country. Ultimately, the goal is to have at least ONE representative for each country.
If you see that your country or ambassador is not listed and you are interested in representing your country, please reach out to us via email at gispa@gemsisak.com
Our Iranian, Egyptian and Latino parents have already started to welcome returning and new parents on a nice breakfast gathering.
We encourage all GIS communities to get together and keep us posted.
GIS house color t-shirts and swim wear will be available to purchase from threads.
