Week Twenty Three - March 14th, 2025
IFDA – International Federation of Dance and Performing Arts at Disney Land Paris.
Nelly (Grade 2A) and Linda (Grade 1F) flew to Paris last week to participate in an international dancing competition. Both are doing an amazing job and we are very proud of them.
Dear GIS Primary Families,
This past week at GIS has been one of celebration, connection, and learning. We were honored to host our annual Community Iftar at the Westin Mina Seyahi, where over 300 families and staff came together to share in the spirit of Ramadan. A heartfelt thank you to our incredible Islamic team and students for their dedication in organizing such a meaningful event, complete with engaging games and activities that made the evening truly special. Your participation and support continue to strengthen the bonds of our wonderful school community.
In addition, we participated in the International Day of Mathematics, exploring the beauty of numbers through a variety of hands-on activities. From geometry and place value to measurement and problem-solving challenges, students engaged in collaborative and interactive learning experiences. These activities not only sparked curiosity and excitement but also highlighted the importance of mathematics in our everyday lives.
Looking ahead, next week we will celebrate Neurodiversity Week across the school. Through a range of lessons and initiatives, we will raise awareness and appreciation for the different ways our brains work, fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students.
A friendly reminder that Spring Break will take place from March 24 to April 4. We wish all families a restful and enjoyable break, and we look forward to welcoming our students back on April 7 for an exciting Term 3.
Thank you for your continued support and engagement in our school community.
Warm regards,
Sarah McLean
