Week Twenty Two - March 7th, 2025
Dear Parents & Guardians,
As we embrace the Ramadan season, our community has seamlessly transitioned to the adjusted school schedule, demonstrating adaptability and commitment to learning. The shorter school day has not hindered our momentum, if anything, this week has been filled with remarkable achievements!
Firstly, our DP Visual Arts students unveiled their much-anticipated exhibition, leaving visitors in awe of the talent and craftsmanship on display. These students have dedicated countless months of hard work to reach this key milestone in the DP Visual Art calendar. The quality of work reflects not only their artistic vision but also their dedication to storytelling through visual mediums. Congratulations to our young artists for a truly inspiring showcase and to Ms Melanie for her guidance!
I had the privilege of being invited by Amber and Reyansh, two of our Tareeqi BTEC Level 1 students, to their Business Pitch presentation this week. As part of their Branding a Product unit, they were challenged to create a new chocolate bar and pitch their concept to members of the Secondary Leadership Team.
For weeks, they have been researching customer preferences, experimenting with unique flavor combinations, and designing eye-catching packaging. I was incredibly impressed by their dedication and hard work, but even more so by their innovative chocolate bars! With creativity, market insight, and entrepreneurial flair, they have the potential to launch Dubai’s next viral chocolate sensation. Well done Amber & Reyansh, we are so proud of you!
In a truly humble moment for our school, eight of our Grade 10 and 11 students have received an extraordinary show of support following their recent internship at The BridgeWay Firm during our Week Without Walls. We are deeply grateful to Jeanette and Sean Haley, for their generosity and unwavering belief in our students.
After witnessing their talent, enthusiasm, and dedication firsthand, Jeanette and Sean expressed their admiration, recognizing how the right environment can unlock a young person’s full potential. As a result, The BridgeWay Firm has generously committed to supporting each of our eight interns with a scholarship toward their future studies.
Beyond this incredible gesture, BridgeWay has also invited these students to join their prestigious “Think Tank” programme—an initiative that connects high school students with industry experts, cutting-edge resources, and global projects. This opportunity not only nurtures innovation but also provides mentorship and financial support, empowering students to develop and refine their ideas.
We extend our deepest appreciation to Jeanette and Sean Haley for their remarkable investment in our students' futures. Their generosity is a testament to the transformative power of real-world learning and the impact of nurturing young minds. Thank you for believing in our students and for opening doors to such extraordinary opportunities!
As we move through this reflective month, we wish you a restful and enjoyable week ahead.
Kind regards
Amanda Murphy
