Head of Secondary School's Message 

Dear Parents & Guardians,

Welcome to the end of another week. I hope you managed to relax and enjoy the extra family time during last week’s midterm break. It was wonderful to have the students back on campus and to hear about their recent adventures while away from school. However, we are now back to business, with all classes resuming.

On that note, I would like to remind everyone that students should present to school on time and in correct GIS uniform. Should there be a reason for your son or daughter being late or wearing items of clothing other than correct uniform, we ask that you email your child’s Homeroom teacher to advise why this is the case.

We recently reported that a group of students, led by Ms Sheeba, were successful in the Dubai First Lego League competition, claiming first place in the Core Values section. Since then, they have been extremely busy preparing and practicing for the National finals that take place this weekend. We wish them the best of luck for this very important event. In a similar vein I would like to thank Mr Sujay who escorted a small group of competitors who participated in the AKIS Innovates challenge for this first time. We were delighted when they returned to school on Tuesday having claimed Bronze. Excellent work by all involved.

Many of our students have been working hard learning lines, singing songs and practicing dance moves in preparation for the annual school production. Our wonderful Arts team, lead by Ms Ellie have already dedicated countless hours to ensure that our talented artists are ready to go on opening night. If you haven’t saved the date, I recommend that you do! March 5, 6 & 7 at 6.30pm. It is gearing up to be one of the highlights of this school year.

Speaking of highlights, I look forward to seeing many of you at the International Day celebrations later today.
