Modular design is not a new concept. There are companies all around the world currently working on modular building concepts, but none are built and adapt so readily and quickly like the Pop-Up Modular concept.
Archigram was an architectural group formed in the 1960s that was interested in showcasing the extreme opposite of the urban landscapes of the day. They looked for inspiration from technology to create a hypothetical projects. They wanted adaptability in their designs.
