Sustainability and Neighborhood Commitments

As part of building a new Lower/Middle School Campus, GDS has committed to significantly reducing car trips to and from campus. Our community is committed to meeting these measures, and we have put together this minisite to answer any questions you may have about getting to and from school sustainably.

Award-Winning Programs and Transportation Options

GDS was awarded Platinum certification for Schools by DDOT's goDCgo for outstanding sustainable transportation options for families and faculty/staff and was the recipient of the 2021 Emerging School Commuter Program Award.

Accessibility and Ease of Use

GDS is conveniently located in the Tenleytown neighborhood of NW DC, just 1/3 of a mile from the Tenleytown-AU Red Line station, and within just a couple blocks from at least 9 Metrobus and RideOn (Montgomery County) bus routes. We also operate 13 additional shuttle bus routes serving our community across the region.
