Ma Guaiya Yu' si Nana Yan si Tata - an illustrator's guide
Cielo Delos Reyes
For 29 years Cielo de los Reyes has been teaching students at FB Leon Guerrero Middle School how to draw, paint, and grow an appreciation for art. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts at the University of Guam in 1984 and has been a student of the visual arts her whole life.
Before teaching, she designed and manufactured clothing for children. In her spare time, she renovates, decorates and “flips” real estate projects; she manages home properties and loves to work with people in creating livable, beautiful, personal spaces.
Whenever Cielo gets an opportunity, she will go off-island for inspiration. She enjoys eco-travel, especially to the Philippines, where she has explored the islands of Coron, Palawan, Boracay and the Cordillera Central Mountains of Luzon, Sagada, to see spectacular views of the Banaue Rice Terraces. She is a fan of the ancient craft of cloth-weaving.
Cielo is drawn to serve her community and enjoys volunteering with Agat Guamerica Lions Club, where she serves as Club Secretary. She lives in Tamuning, and has three children, Romeo III, Butch, and Marco.
