Job Shadow Opportunities and how-to videos

Here at GCHS we believe that job shadowing provides the student with an authentic experience and knowledge of the workforce and offers career exploration. Students interested will be paired with and observe the workday of a business partner in a particular occupation, company, industry and career path.

Job shadowing opportunities are valuable and provide:

• real-life experience needed to confirm your career path

• demonstrate skills necessary in the field of interest

• build your professional network

• increase professionalism, self-confidence and communication skills

The Process

1. You register with Mrs. Parker in Room 163 and fill out form "REGISTRATION" below.

2. Students are matched by Instructor with professionals in the career they are interested in pursuing.

3. Students report to the host's worksite at the scheduled time determined by the instructor on the scheduled day.

4. Host takes a picture with student, verifying the student attended the job shadow experience.

5. Student completes the "REFLECTION" form below.
