Guiding Question: How can Rachmaninoff's music be visually represented in a way that captures the emotional depth and complexity of his compositions, and how can this representation enhance the listener's experience of the music?
Elevator Pitch: My project aims to bring Rachmaninoff's C# Minor Prelude to life by creating a video that depicts the dream that inspired his iconic composition. By combining visual imagery with the emotional depth of the music, I hope to create an immersive experience that transports the viewer into Rachmaninoff's creative process. Through my project, I aim to deepen the listener's appreciation for the prelude and other classical works.Â
Introduction: Rachmaninoff's Prelude in C# minor is one of the most celebrated and well-known pieces of romantic classical music. There is a well known story that the inspiration behind this piece was a dream Rachmaninoff had. This dream was the spark that ignited the creation of the Prelude. In this project, I attempt to bring Rachmaninoff's dream to life. As part of the project, along with learning the piece, I had to learn how to edit with Adobe Premiere Pro. My hope is to provide a multi-sensory experience that will immerse the listener in the story behind this iconic piece of music.
