The Art of Curation

I love making art. For my project I knew I wanted to do something related to art, but didn’t want my final project to be an art piece. Over the summer, I learned that the average time a person looks at a piece of art is around nine and a half seconds. I started to think about how I could help more people appreciate art. I realized that I didn’t know anything about museum curation and decided to focus on the process of how a piece of art ends up on the wall of a museum. For my final project I created a to-scale model of an art exhibit with pieces picked by me.

My driving question is: How can exhibition design, facilitate the presentation of art so that it is accessible, interesting, and engaging to all ages and people?
