Project Description
My March Madness project is a feature article on partisanship in America and its effect on younger people. I interviewed various leading thinkers about their views on what has caused partisanship, possible solutions to partisanship, and other thoughts on America's political divide. Partisanship has been increasing in the past years and has had many negative effects, which have included increased disillusionment among younger people. I also interviewed some students, so that I had some youth perspectives on whether they were involved in politics, interested in politics, or possibly discouraged by the divide. The divide seems like it might be unrepairable, but these experts provide practical solutions for how we can attempt to tackle the divide.
Driving Question
What factors have caused increasing partisanship and how can we repair this divide?
